Inner Calling with Dr. Victoria

I’m writing a book, inspired by you

Dear innercallers,

I’ve been working on a book for the past three years. It’s about neurodivergence and trusting all the things you know inside yourself even when the world says otherwise.

It’s about the challenges involved in believing in yourself and overcoming all the things you inherit from the world, to make contact with what is deeply true inside you and having the courage to live it out. I collected stories from real humans and patients who volunteered to share their stories in hopes that it would provide encouragement and wisdom to you.

It’s really hard to write a book. It’s a bit like marathon running mixed with the intensity you see on cooking shows like Top Chef. In other words, there is a craft to it, to putting words on the page.

This page is where I will give updates on this book. You might wonder why it matters, and to that I would say maybe it doesnt. But the truth is that I spent each day writing it, with you in my mind. I really wanted to get its messages to you. So read on if you’re interested:

Status:

I finished the first draft. Then, my mentor Mark recommended that I work with an editor to get their opinion on the draft. The editors opinion is that I need to work on it some more. Apparently, book publishing houses don’t really provide writers with the opportunity to work closely with an editor anymore, so if you want to publish a book, you’ve got to work with an editor yourself before you ever submit it. So that’s what I’m doing now. AHHHH!!!!! I’m now entering into my fourth year of working on this thing!!!!! But no worries, you’re worth it. Wish me luck lol

Best,

Dr. Victoria Ranade
